Chernobyl the history of the ghost |

It seems as if recently a small town in Ivankiv district pleased its residents with cozy streets, nature, the children played on the river ... The consequences of the terrible catastrophe turned hundreds of lives, and dozens of people were killed or were struck by radiation. Chernobyl became a place where time was divided into: before and after. Before the tragedy, it was an ordinary city in the Kiev region, which numbered about 13 thousand people. It would continue to develop: houses were built, institutions, if not for the terrible event on April 26, 1986, which changed everything. Background of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Explosion That day there was a powerful explosion of the nuclear reactor at the fourth power unit, which later would be called the most horrifying event of the century. The nuclear station was located several hundred kilometers from the capital of Ukraine Kiev and the border with Belarus. The Chernobyl station itself, where the accident occurred, was a major military object of the USSR of those times. The main cause of the malfunction is the failure of the reactor, which, according to the results of the study, did not have a reasonably well-designed safety and control system for all processes. By fateful coincidence, these are the consequences of an unsuccessful experiment of workers with a turbogenerator, in which the fuel tank overheated later. Precisely because of these reasons, there was a complete destruction of the atomic generator. The tragedy happened at 1:24 am, where two major explosions took place just a minute after the beginning of the experimental tests. As the experts say later, only a couple of seconds were not enough for the sensors of the security system to work. The first release of steam by its blast wave immediately destroyed the dense roof of the reactor. The second explosion followed in a few seconds and, thanks to the particles of graphite in the pair, intensified the destructive effect. The main causes of the tragedy are:
As a result, thousands of particles of radiation scattered hundreds of kilometers. There was a major pollution of the environment, massive irradiation of radiation. To quickly eliminate the disaster on the flaming reactor, clay, sand, boron and lead were dropped in large quantities. Brigades of firefighters, aviation and the NPP workers themselves by common titanic efforts, and sometimes at the cost of their lives, fought with the disaster shoulder to shoulder. This turned the city into a deserted and abandoned zone, which for years was completely isolated. As a result, the flora and fauna of the region suffered very badly. At the moment the population is about 1.5 thousand people, including employees of existing state structures, self-settlers and people who are there on the watch.
